Family Program /

Your family is part of the treatment team.

Adolescent healing rarely happens in isolation. Our family program is built to make sure the people your teen goes home to are prepared for what comes next.

A tree of connection: its branches hold family therapy, parent learning, a multi-family group, and home, with a family standing together at its roots

Program Pillars

Three ways your family stays at the center of your teen's care.

Weekly Family Therapy

A licensed family therapist meets with you and your teen every week, in person or by video, throughout their stay.

  • In-person or video sessions, every week
  • Goals personalized to your family
  • Progress reviewed with you as the plan evolves

Parent Education & Support

Live, structured sessions for parents and guardians — no prior experience assumed.

  • Boundaries and communication
  • Supporting your teen after discharge
  • Articles and guides in our resource library

Multi-Family Groups & Community

Structured groups with other Belvedere families facing similar challenges, so you're not navigating this alone.

  • Structured, facilitated peer groups
  • Shared experience with other families
  • Less isolation, more support

The Journey of Connection

How your family stays involved from the first conversation to the transition home.

  1. Step 1

    Assessment & Intake

Family involvement starts on day one. You share your teen's history and what you hope will change, and meet the family therapist who will work with you.

At home: You know who your family therapist is and that you'll meet every week.

  2. Step 2

    Skill Building

Weekly family therapy and parent education sessions build the communication and boundary skills you'll practice together.

At home: New ways to talk, listen, and set limits that carry into everyday life.

  3. Step 3

    Community Engagement

Multi-family groups connect you with other Belvedere families facing similar challenges.

At home: Perspective from families who understand what you're going through.

  4. Step 4

    Family Visits & Passes

As clinically appropriate, in-person visits and home passes are built into the treatment plan to practice new skills together.

At home: A chance to try new routines at home before discharge day.

  5. Step 5

    Aftercare Support

Your family therapist begins planning the transition home well before discharge, including referrals to outpatient therapists and psychiatrists near you.

At home: A clear plan for who your teen will see next, and what to watch for.

Healing works best as a family effort.
